To be a natural leader we need to prove to
our herd that we will protect them from the
lions in the woods.

Horses that shy when out on the trail in
general have not placed their safety in your
hands and are still doing what they believe
they need to do to survive. It is a matter of
life and death to the horse.
Horseless riding  sounds at first like something you might want
to avoid when really it is what you do before you get on your
horse and then follow as you ride. It is designed to help you
achieve a better energy flow in order to communicate more
clearly with your horse.
Horseless Riding is what we use a lot
with our Rider confidence program.

Some farriers, blacksmiths or especially competitive horse
owners are going to tell you that you need to shoe your horse
for the good health of your horse.

If you were to ask your horse instead of the farrier, I would
expect the answer to come back more like, "Could you please
shoe them darn flys".  If you had not already heard of horse
shoes would you allow some person to come up to your horse
and start driving nails into its hoof to attach a metal plate.

Horse shoes by design will dramatically reduce the blood
circulation in the hoof, lead to life threatening changes to vital
organs, and increase the shock on the leg.

There is no condition that a horse's hoof can suffer that a
metal horse shoe will not make worse.
